The Slopera

Here's my life as it currently is. I just got back from visiting Josh's family in Idaho, which was a blast. I got to meet Joe and Mandy (his brother and sister in law) as well as their three kids Katie, Alyssa, and Presley. Jake, Rachel, Chris, and Larry were there also with Jake and Rachel's kids Brynn and Eli bringing the grand total of people in the house to 13. It was crazy but really fun :) Can't wait until we get Annie there with her husband and four kids, then we'll really have a full fledged part going on.

So now that I'm back from my fun weekend it's back to work. I'm the assistant makeup designer for BYU's production of the Opera "Tales of Hoffman". We're in dress rehearsals all week and we start the actual show this saturday. It runs until next saturday which actually isn't really a very long run but with seven hour rehearsals all week this week it sure feels long. Luckily we don't have a whole lot of makeup to do like we did on Macbeth, this show we just have 35 people to wig and some hair to whiten. Nothing I can't handle :) Plus we have tons of people to volunteer with the wigging process so that helps a lot.

As far as the book goes I'm still doing my final revisions that Mike Eberhardt gave me to do and then I'll send it off to him and see if he wants to send it to his agent. If not I'll send it off to Michele Bell (An author in Utah) and she said she'd love to market it regionally. So keep your fingers crossed and we'll see what happens!

Bandits

Courtney ( http://youarewhatyouloveagain.blogspot.com/ ) has shown me just how much of a slacker I am as far as updating my blog goes so I am officially vowing to be better. Done. Consider it vowed.

So I just returned from my History of film class and we watched "Bonnie and Clyde" which I have to say is quite brilliant and makes me really want to watch "Bandits".

This month has been full of craziness as we're getting closer to shooting "Inspector 42" and the run of "Macbeth" starts. Sadly I won't be able to actually be on set for "Inspector 42" because I'll be tattooing billions of people for "Macbeth"... though getting to use the airbrush machine might actually make up for it. I will, however, have perpetually stained black hands for a month... so that's the pits. But here is the beautiful old abandon elementary school that we've begun to transform into a shirt factory from the 1950's for "Inspector 42"

And now... for the book (you knew it was coming you just didn't know when). The book has gone through it's official final edit. The copyright is in the mail on it's way to Draper. The cover photo has been shot. And I am getting everything compiled to send of to D.C. where Jackie will put it into book form. What does this mean? This means I should have a bound copy of my book in a few weeks! This is basically the most exciting news in the world in case you were wondering. I wish I could just throw copies of my book off of a building so everyone would read it... but sadly I actually have to charge for it (Probably about $10 depending on how much it costs to bind it) which makes me feel bad but in fact, I don't have hundreds of dollars to throw around. Hopefully one day it'll get published and my publisher will take care of that but we'll just have to see. I'll be sending copies off to various literary agents pretty soon so keep your fingers crossed... which I suppose is an ironic thing to say since that's the cover of my book. I wanted to wait until I had the title on it to post the cover art but Jackie is tragically busy in D.C. so I'll just post the unfinished photo for your viewing enjoyment :)

Uphill both ways

So it's been snowing here in Provo for about three days straight and it pretty much feels like I'm walking to school barefoot in the snow uphill both ways. I got back from winter break and literally had to let my car slide into a parking spot. Luckily there weren't many other cars around. So I decided to go to the grocery store yesterday and figured my best bet would be to put my car into four wheel drive but in order to do that I have to turn these locks on my two front wheels and I could only get one of them in place. Thinking that would be better than nothing I tried to pull out of the spot but the back of my car just kind of swung from side to side and when I put my foot on the break my front wheel kept spinning so I put the car into park and it made that horrible noise that a car makes when a person who can't drive a stick shift tries to and it kind of goes reeeeeeeeaaaaarrrrrrrruuuuggghhhh. So I think I broke it... we'll see.

In other news this semester may well kill me. There's a student film I'd like to try out for but I don't think I'll have time with all this other stuff. I'm still working on "Picture of Dorian Gray" until about mid-February and this semester we start production on "Inspector 42"... I don't act in that however, I'm in the art department. On top of all that though my makeup class this semester is intense. For an assignment I have to supervise one of the BYU productions so I chose Macbeth... this means I have to be there for all the dress rehearsals, makeup training days, photocalls, and the run of the show. I have to be one of the first people there and one of the last to leave. Also, I'll have to supervise the beginning makeup students, making sure their doing everything right. Now this would be intimidating normally but this show is extra scary because they're doing tattoos that appear gradually throughout the show which means I'll have to be airbrushing tattoos onto actors backstage during the show... scary. Also since just about everybody dies in Macbeth there's lots of injury makeup I'll have to do pretty quickly backstage... lots of blood. Also, every single person in the cast is wearing a wig. Why the boys need to wear wigs is beyond me but that's just what happens I suppose. So yeah, it's going to be an insanely busy semester but hopefully I'll live.

So far no news on the book front. I'm still waiting for the copyright to come in and I've arranged for my friend to shoot the cover of the book for me. Then I'll buy a UPC for the book so that it can be sold and my roommate Jackie will design the cover and format the book since she knows inDesign really well.

Alright this is the official trailer for the indie film I'm in based on Oscar Wilde's novel "Picture of Dorian Gray"... keep in mind we didn't have our boom for my scene in the pink dress so it's not entirely my fault that you can't understand a word I'm saying. Also, A major motion picture studio is currently working on a version of this story with Ben Barnes and Rachel Hurwood... I'm not sure how much this will affect us but it's kind of irksome that they'll get all the publicity and we may get compared to them even though our budget is completely nonexistent and their's is unending. /end rant. Dorian Production Photos

So I don't start filming my scenes until the 13th of October but I wanted to help out with the film so yesterday I got to boom for the opening scene. It was fun except for the fact that my arms are now killing me from holding that stupid mic all day. Plus between that, rollerblading right after, and getting pushed through the window by Jackie I now have 12 bruises. It's a hard life. Anyways, here are some photos I took between shots. We filmed it in the gardens at Thanksgiving Point.

Well Dad and Maddie know all about this film since I made them watch it during my recent visit, but few people know just how much I love this awesome film! But that's beside the point. The point of this post is to announce that the choreographer from the play I was in last summer is directing an independent version of "Picture of Dorian Gray" and asked if I would be Sybil Vane. So basically I'm ecstatic. I love this movie and I love the part of Sybil. The director from the same play from last summer is also in this film and I get to play some scenes with her so that's wonderful. This adaptation of Dorian is a dance drama. So it's kind of like a Victorian version of Chicago. The real world is the real world and the things that happen in Dorian's mind are dances. I only have one dance in the show but that's good because I'm a horrid dancer. Last night was my first rehearsal of the dance I do with Dorian. In the story Dorian is influenced by his less than upstanding friend to ask his sweetheart Sybil Vane to spend the night with him. While Dorian isn't so sure it's a good idea he agrees to do it. So Sybil (me) goes over to Dorian's house and when he asks me to spend the night that's when we have our little seduction dance. It shows the reluctance on both of our parts as well as Dorian's desires and my wish to not lose him. It's a wonderful dance and I really love the entire depiction of the scene. Kevin is such a great director to work with and Taylor (Dorian) is a gem. I didn't feel at all stupid trying to learn the dance or speak with a british accent because he was just so nice about it. We aren't scheduled to start shooting my scenes until October 13th, but after that I should be all wrapped up by the end of October. I know Kevin (the director) is planning on submitting it to some festivals but I'm not sure which ones. Either way I will definitely let you guys know what's going on and I'll try to take some pictures on the 13th. Wish me luck with my horrible British accent! Oh and here's the link for the movie website... keep in mind that Dorian doesn't look nearly as young now as he did when he took the picture so I don't look like I'm being seduced by someone half my age.

The Fall

So my roommate Jackie and I happen to be quite obsessed with the TV show "Pushing Daisies", which, incidentally means I happen to be very obsessed with Lee Pace (the quirky, cute pie maker). So with my carefully trained eye and my Lee radar on I happened to spot him on an ad for a newly released movie... he was only on the ad for a split second so naturally Jackie and I had to check it out. So we found out some information and after deciding from the pictures that it may just be the most beautifully designed film ever we bought it. We just finished watching it tonight... it's about 3:30am at present... and I must say that it was the most stunning movie I've ever seen. The little girl is most definitely the best actress her age and of course Lee was absolutely amazing. Everyone really should check this film out. It's mostly practical effects. Even the things that look like and (money wise) probably should be computer effects are practical effects. It was shot in 18 different countries over a 4 year period. So much work went into it and it completely paid off. It's stunning, beautiful, and breathtaking.

Generation Dead

Well I went to Barnes and Nobel with my mom a few days ago because she wanted to read "Pretties" by Scott Westerfeld and couldn't wait for me to get my copy back from my friend. While we were there I decided to look for "Sovay" by Celia Rees even though I'm not quite sure it's out yet. Oddly enough I couldn't find any books by her so my mom suggested we look in the "New for Teens" section. So we walked over there, unassumingly, without a care in the world. The shelves are filled with Libba Bray and Stephanie Meyer books, nothing out of the ordinary, until a highly made up teenage cheerleader catches my eye. I look at the book cover, mildly intrigued and read that the book is titled "Generation Dead". Suddenly a thought strikes me that goes a little something like this: 'Huh... Generation dead. Well that sounds like it could be a bit like the book I'm writing right now where this girl dies in a plane crash then wakes up at her funeral... wow... I sure hope it's not similar since I thought that was a really good idea... and there's also that little fact that this book is already published and mine is only half way written....." So the panic builds within me and I decide the only way to settle my nerves is to read the inside cover to see what it's about. The inside cover said something to the effect that the book was about teenagers dying all over and mysteriously coming back to life though no one understands why........ Yep. There it is. My future writing career destroyed... alright so that's being a bit melodramatic but needless to say I'm not very happy with whoever wrote the book... it was a very "Secret Window" moment for me... though of course they've been published so in all honesty they should be the ones mad that I had the same idea. So. My solution? Don't read their book until after I've written and hopefully published mine. Then at least I can plead ignorance. And keep the e-mail I sent to myself with the first half of the book so that I have a date to prove when I started writing it... not that I think there will be any problems... lots of people have similar stories.... but still, it's quite upsetting. Either way, I'm still going to push through and finish mine happily downing huge cups of water and eating my weight in peanut butter and jelly sandwiches as I do so.

Book Update

Alright well I've sent my manuscript off to DAW publishing. I enclosed a stamped postcard so they can at least tell me when they've received it. So far no news back but I could have a good three months before they get to it... which is slightly discouraging, but I'll just use that time to look for other publishers to send it to. DAW has this weird rule that if you send your manuscript to them then you can't send it to anyone else so I have to wait for a bit before I can send it off to any other publishers. Anyway, I've already plotted out the second book in the series, which looks like it will be much longer than the first (the first came to a grand total of 240 pages by the way) so I can't wait to start writing that one. I am, however, a bit engulfed in another project that I just happened to come up with in the airport in California on my way back to Utah from dad's house... and most everyone in my life will be in this book but with different names... that's right Maddie, you make your big entrance within the first five pages :) So I think I have to get this story out of my system before I can go back to the second book in Robin's series. So there you have it. My overactive imagination will forever be running my life. Wish me luck with that! The end.

My Book!

Well it's official. I've finished writing my first novel. It took me forever, which is sad since most writers can whip out three books a year (or more) and this one took me about seven years. In my defense, I hadn't been working on it seriously until last month. The funny thing is it took me 7 years to finish the first half and one month to finish the second half... that shows you what a little dedication will do. So I've gone through the whole thing and edited (the first half needed some major reworking since I wrote some of that back in my freshman year of high school) and now my mom is editing it again. She's up to page 70 so not too far to go. I know of a publishing company that is accepting manuscripts from new authors and their main focus is young adult fiction (which just happens to be what my book is). So I'm pretty excited to send it to them... though they did say it could take 3 months to even get to the point where they read it but I'm not too concerned. I've waited 7 years I can wait a few more months. I know it's really hard to get published so I don't expect too much, but there is this binding company down in Lindon so if all else fails I can at least get my book in book form. Either way, I'm very excited and if it ever does get published I hope everyone will go get a copy :)

Festival of Colors and movie making

As of late I've been busy with my major. So far I've made a 20 minute documentary, a 2 minute music video, and a 3 minute short narrative. It's been a blast but very very VERY busy. Anyways, for my final project in my 185 class we had to make a short film based on a script we didn't write. So I, naturally made one about very serious subject matter... aliens :) It's a very cheesey B movie type of thing but I had tons of fun making it and once I figure out how to convert the video file I'll post it.

Also, a few days ago I went to the festival of Colors at the Indian temple in spanish fork. It was very fun! Everyone throws chalk dust at each other... it's wonderful... though it's difficult to breathe... or see... or live after that but after you've coughed up all the chalk dust you can look back and enjoy the expirience.

Lastly, I went to Wal Mart last night at midnight to buy Sweeney Todd on dvd the second it came out. We can thank my natural love of Tim Burton and Maggie's influence for this new found obsession!

Did I say I was happy?

What I meant was that the Razor is the worst phone in the world... but we won't get into that because thanks to a 30 day exchange policy I am back in good graces with verizon. So today I had my student presentation.... which is actually a very misleading title for the process... what really happened was I was escorted into a tiny office where 15 members of the faculty were squeezed around a long oval table. I sat at the head of the table amongst the chaos that seems to surround film professors and attempted to remind myself not to say 'like' or 'um' too much (I failed on both accounts by the way). So they asked about my most significant film experience and I quite uneloquently answered, then I told them what I had learned from my non film related jobs. Then Someone piped up and said "We have a photo of you and you're wearing that same necklace... is it special? Is it one of those things you wear every day?" I was a bit nervous about the fact that they had somehow obtained a photo of me and was quite curious to know exactly what photo it was, but I just said "Oh my Dad gave me this necklace so yes it's special but I don't wear it every day." So they told me it would have sounded better if I told them i wore it every day... which means I quickly backtracked and changed my answer (jokingly of course... we can't lie to our professors now can we?) So then, my old TMA102 Professor asked me if my head would fall off if I removed the neckalce... if that's any indication of how the interview went then I'm just as stumepd as you as to if I'll get into the program. But all in all I think I did well and really... if I didn't there's not much to be done about it now but wait until the end of December. So there's what's happening in my life right now. Keep your fingers crossed about the major!

Happiness is a Warm Gun

So I haven't posted in forever because I haven't been able to figure out my password and account and such... so here I am... Lots of new stuff that can luckily be explained in one short paragraph. First off I finally turned in my application to my major so keep your fingers crossed that I get in. I won't know until a few days before Christmas (Some christmas present if I don't get in huh?) So other than that I did a commercial a week or two ago. It was for a College (soon to be University) right by BYU. It was a little odd that I was talking about how much I loved going to school there when I don't actually go to school there... oh well. It was fun :) I got to be painted all green because their color is green and so they have this whole thing called 'green fever' which is what the commercial was about. It should be posted on youtube on the 15th so I'll post a link here. Alright so last thing is... EVERYONE has to go see "Across the Universe" because it's amazing... I mean, it's the Beatles songs made into a musical... can it get any better? I think not. So definately go see that because I've been listening to nothing but Beatles music for the past month because of it. The end :)
Also, there's this new TV show (though the writers strike I suppose will shut it down for a while) called "Pushine Daisies" and its like an hour of Time Burton each week. It's really visually beautiful and just brilliant. So watch that on wednesdays :) Because really you can't get much better than a show where a guy can touch people and bring them back to life. Plus he makes pies... so that's always fun.

Oh ps: I got a new phone! After 2 years of having a phone that died every 2 seconds! Same number but I'm quite happy :) It's a cute little pink razor! Yay!

I got the part!

So im not sure how many of you knew this but I auditioned for High School Musical (not the movie... the play.... at the draper Historic Theatre) and it was my first audition ever so I wasn't expecting anything at all... I just wanted an ensemble role or something buuutttt... I got the part of Taylor! Which is the main character (Gabriella's) best friend! Im soooo happy you have no idea! My first audition and I got a part... I'm stunned!I was about ready to cry walking up to the cast list because I was sure I hadn't gotten anything! I think this part is perfect because there aren't any solos and not a whole lot of lines and such. Now lets hope I dont freeze up on stage :P So the performances are in August... and I'm way excited... as you can tell from my broken train of thought and terrible use of grammer :P

The Spelling Bee!!!

As requested by Maddie, here are the clay people we made!




Alright so Lyndsey, Brendan, Jackie and I drove like 12 hours from Utah to go see "The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee" on Saturday in LA... and yeah... those very cramped 12 hours were so worth it! I completely love this show! I had only seen clips of it before but I've always loved the music and stuff. So yeah here's my review of the day. We got to the theatre about 40 minutes before it started. Jackie and I made the cast little clay people (which I'm sure sounds creepy and stalkerish of us but we just really like clay people and the Bee.. so put two and two together and there you go). Jackie did most of the work because I'm creatively impaired... but I did help her! So yeah we got there early to give them to the cast then realized they probably wouldn't let us go see them so we opted to give them to the stage manager. So we went back to the car and who should be walking through the parking lot but Jay (Panch) and Dan (Barfee) so me... being the eloquent person I am yelled "Hey"... and naturally they looked at me but had no idea who I was and so I sat there with my mouth hanging open like an idiot... couldn't think of anything to say. So they kind of smiled and politely made their way to the theatre and of course just to add to the embarassment I yelled "We made you guys presents" after them... which completely destroyed any pride I had left :) Luckily I recovered from my little outburst and we went in and gave the box of gifts to the stage manager.

Alright so I kept telling everyone that when I went to see the Bee I would go right up to the sign up people and ask to be in it (they let 4 audience members come up and spell) and guess what... a lady came up to me and asked if I wanted to sign up to be in the Bee and what do I do? The same thing I did when I so gracefully yelled 'hey' at Dan Fogler...I stood there with my mouth open for a moment before saying "no.... but um... I'm sure my friend would like to".... stupid stupid stupid! But knowing me if they did let me on stage I would get the word "Cow" and completely forget how to spell. Alright so they show was amazing! The cast was just so good and Coneybear as Logainne's dad just kills me :) This little kid was one of the guest spellers, Ben Cooper I think was his name... and they called him mini cooper... seriously the cutest thing I've ever seen. Pandemonium was awesome to watch! There was just so much going on during that song but it was so well done. 'Woe is Me' (my favorite song, surprise surprise) was so good! I love love love Jesse as Logainne's dad. He and Derrick are hilarious. I love when he says "Daddy conference now". Classic line :) The part where Chip gets out is so funny. I love being in an audience with people who aren't familiar with the show. This row of girls in front of me all gasped and started giggling when Chip stood up and pulled down his sign. It was great sitting behind those girls just to see their reactions! Oh and when Coneybear and Logainne got out I think everyone in the audience wanted to cry... Right when they hit the bell for Coneybear everyone around me went "awwwwww". 'I Speak Six Languages' was just awesome... it looks exhausting though so kudos to Deborah for doing it. Celia, Derrick and Lisa totally nailed "The I Love You Song". It was amazing and depressing all at the same time. And Jay (who plays Panch and I sadly didn't get to meet) was awesome! I love when he freaks out on the spellers or just gets really annoyed at them... definately makes the show! The whole interaction between him and Coneybear is awesome. So the play itself was amazing.

After the play we ran to the stage door... which it turned out we didn't have to do because they don't bolt from the theatre like we thought. So I met Celia first and luckily I didn't sit there speechless like I thought I might... I did, however, act very fangirlish with all of them... it was pretty embarassing. I was like "I love the Bee you guys are so great!" I'm sure they thought I was crazy. Then I met Sarah... which just about made my life! Sarah is seriously so funny and way nice... plus Logainne is my favorite character in the show so it was amazing that I got to meet her. I did say embarassing stuff to her too (Like admitting I made a Logainne fan club on facebook... wow... that's just something you should never admit) but still.. she was so nice about everything. The entire cast really was so great! I'm sure they were all in a hurry and didn't have time to be bothered by us but they all still talked and took pictures and signed stuff.

Sadly though they didn't get the clay things Jackie and I made before we met them... I'm hoping the stage manager gave them to them before or after the night show... but yeah... I felt kind of dumb saying "Hey my roommate and I made you guys clay figures of your characters but you don't have them yet"... totally makes us sound weird... but they turned out cool so who cares if it comes off as obsessive right?

So all in all this was the BEST trip ever! I love the spelling bee and I'm just soooooo happy I got to see the OBC before they never work together again! So yeah... amazing trip.

Update on life

Well lets see. This is just gonna have to be a choppy post because there's lots to say and no eloquent way to say it. So I've finally decided on a major. I'll major in English teaching and minor in Art History and Documentary film making. That way I'll be a high school English teacher (as my day job) and a famous author/actor/filmmaker/Broadway star/everything else at night and during the summer. Perfect plan? I like to think so.
Alright next. I love my political science class! It really makes me appreciate living in America. I mean... people always complain about corruption and stuff but just try living in Russia where they treat their politicians like waitresses... Don't need to pay them well because they're expected to get tips (aka bribes). This class has really made me want to travel so I can see all of these different political systems in action. And also when I'm a famous author I'm going to build 348437842 schools in the Chinese urban areas for the migrant children from rural ares to attend because it's just not fair that these bright children can't go to good schools just because they're from the rural part of China.
So anyways, on to less serious matters. Wicked is now officially in LA and I couldn't be happier... which sadly is a line from one of the songs... I didn't even mean to do that... odd. So I've found out that you can get tickets for as cheap as $32... I'm sure the seats are terrible but who cares? It's Wicked! So my roommates and I will hopefully be going right after finals and I may get the chance to go again over the summer.
So I just need to quickly suggest that everyone read "Perfume: The Story of a Murderer" because it's just so beautifully written that I can now die happy after reading it. True it's pretty dark but I like dark stories... which reminds me...
Johnny Depp is going to be in Sweeny Todd directed by none other then my favorite director Tim Burton! Sweeny Tood is a creepy story in and of itself but get Tim Burton in on the action... should be good.
Also, Hairspray the movie is set to come out in July... It's full of famous people plus seeing John Travolta dressed up as a fat woman should just about make my life.
Well I think that's about it... I'm in love with the Office... and yeah... that's all. Oh wait no it's not... I love my tap class =) Now I'm done

Bad things happen when one is bored

It's true... I've dyed my hair again... I seem to do that a lot. Well I don't have much to say so here it is... along with my other hair dye addictions over the years =)

Like the title? Gee I'm clever. So... I'm currently majorless (again) but I think i may have actually narrowed it down. At the moment it's between Theatre, Film, and Psychology... all equally unemployable. Thats ok... I don't mind being poor as long as I'm happy right? Plus that's what parents are for... just kidding Dad. So next semester I'll be taking a bunch of intro classes to see which field I like best, to which Jared said "So is that why you went to college? To take intro classes ever semester?" To which I replied "At least I'm in college." We really do love each other don't worry.

Alright two the second segment of news... I saw "Seussical the Musical" for my birthday at the Draper Historic Theatre. It was so amazingly good! which I didn't really expect it to be since it's just a community theatre. But they were all amazing and the music is so fun. Oh and I'm no addicted to "The Wild Party" which... how could i not be when Julia Murney, Idina Menzel, and Taye Diggs are all in it.

And lastly, Wicked is going to have a sit-down in LA! Meaning they'll stay there till tickets stop selling... just to give you an idea of how amazingly awesome that is, Wicked started a sit down in Chicago about two-ish years ago... yeah... I'm very happy! So that's where all of my money will be going for the next five years. Anyone wanna come? Plus the starting cast is going to be Megan Hilty and Eden Espinosa (Who were on broadway in Wicked together) Kristoffer Cusick (Who was in the Chicago production of Wicked) and Jenna Lee Green (Who was in the touring cast of Wicked... and also in sabrina the teenage witch... which i find amusing). So yeah... I'm happy!

I Defied Gravity 8-3-06

All right so basically I’ve been grinning like an idiot for hours now =) I went to see Wicked and it was amazing! Though I must admit it was a bit disheartening when I was the only one who clapped when Fiyero came on. Sad stuff. Anyways. We started off the evening by buying everything we could carry away from the frightened merchandise ladies, though we did hold back a little… I got a tank top, bracelets, and a poster that they apparently didn’t give me… meh… I’ll get it off the Internet later I suppose, though the $15 down the drain doesn’t seem to think that’s fair compensation. I made scarves for Julia and Kendra… pink and green, and made in quite a panicked state (I didn’t think I would finish Kendra’s in time so I knitted like a mad woman, holed up in my hotel room, looming needle in hand, pink yarn flying everywhere) it was lovely. They were so soft I didn’t want to part with them but I did, with the aid of a card and gift bag picked out by my mom. I gave them to the stage manager who mom so cleverly wooed into taking them back to the girls for me. After we inhaled a quick hot dog we went into the theatre and took our seats, which had a surprisingly good view. I bounced around in my chair for a while, scheming up ways to get videos of defying gravity without getting kicked out… sadly I came up quite empty handed. Then the show started and I smiled… for a long long long time. Needless to say, my face is in a great deal of pain. Everything was amazing! Julia has an incredible voice and Kendra is so cute! During intermission I read my grimmerie while mom scoped out the bathroom situation. I yelled at her to hurry back since the “Thank Goodness” costume is the best one in the whole play. Yet again… I wore a stupid grin on my face the whole time though I must admit; they didn’t even get through the first note of “For Good” before I started crying. It was amazing and the finale gave me chills. Right when the curtain calls started I bolted… didn’t even wait for Julia and Kendra to take their bows, just leapt down the stairs, five at a time, so that I could get to the stage door before Kendra made a run for it. Once I got there I met two very nice people. A woman and her daughter Molly. Molly was so cute. She’s like who I wish I was at her age (She’s 11 I believe). She was definitely the stage door queen. We schemed for a while about how to get back stage while we waited for Kendra. After a while Kendra came out with her little dog and I asked her if she had gotten my scarf. She said she had and that she and Julia had been modeling them backstage. I got a picture with her and had her sign my Grimmerie, then she went off to be attacked by other ravenous fans. After her came Jennifer, who played Nessa. She seemed a bit preoccupied but she signed my Grimmerie and was very polite.

After her came Sebastian… wow… beautiful man, and sadly my moms camera didn’t work the first time so I had to get my picture taken with him twice… pity… or not. He was so funny and he and Molly talked like they were old friends, it was cute. After that we waited for a while, Julia takes longer then the rest because she has to wash her green paint off but she did come out eventually. She had a scarf around her head, probably to hide some stubborn green paint. I asked her if she got the scarf I made her and she was so cute… this is basically our conversation:
Me: Did you get the scarf I made you?
Julia: You made that? I loved it! It was so soft. (Yells to her friends) This is the girl who made the scarf.
Her friends: Oh that scarf was beautiful. It’s good to be Elphaba huh?They were all so nice and it made me happy she liked my scarf. She said once its cold again she would be done with wicked so she could finally wear green again. While Julia signed other autographs I asked her friends if Victoria Matlock (Julia’s understudy) had left but they said she had… I was pretty sad but at least I met everyone else! All in all I’d say it was pretty amazing. I’ve never been happier and I now have a Grimmerie full of signatures to prove it. =)
